![]() (Image credit: Future) Using emulators in SteamOS Then you can reboot the system and jump back into SteamOS. The last step is to copy over whatever games, BIOS files, memory card saves, etc. That's almost everything you have to do on the desktop. It's built to play nice with controllers.) (One note here if you're also installing Duckstation: it has two interfaces, and "DuckStationNoGUI" is the one you want to add to Steam. Once I had my chosen emulators installed, I launched the desktop version of Steam and used the "Games > Add a non-Steam game to my library" menu to add each emulator to Steam so that I could access it from the SteamOS interface. Because of the way Valve set up the partitions and file permissions on the Deck, installing emulators or any other software via the terminal is pretty locked down unless you have some serious Linux skills. The best bit is that these aren't just one-off executables you're installing-when new builds of the emulators are released, you can update with a single click, too. Also idk what ubershaders is but from looking it up, I assumed it had to do with the gpu and possibly only nvidia gpus, I was expecting my 2070 to handle it no problem but it didn't turn out too well on the fps there. There are some other emulators available in Discover, too, including mGBA for the Game Boy Advance and Citra for the 3DS. From the settings that I pieced together, I was able to get it playing great with 1080 but not so good with 1440. And then I have a 75hz 2560x1440p monitor, idk what it's like for Dolphin but with cemu I can easily play games at 1440p with all the graphis packs and what not so I do believe i'd be able to get 1440p for dolphin but again idk exactly the specs it requires. ![]() I have a Rtx 2070 and a Ryzen 1600(which I know my CPU is a huge bottleneck and that emulation requires a hefty cpu, I believe I get up to 3.8ghz though. But yea mostly I want to use Dolphin to emulate Skyward Sword to play through with a higher resolution and what not than how I played it when I was 11 on my wii lol. And maybe this sounds dumb and that Ishiiruka didn't have more settings to get more performance, I really don't know the difference between the two and why you'd use it. So that's why I feel the need to ask if it is best to use Dolphin or the Ishiiruka as Dolphin has the newer settings so would Dolphin in this instance have the better tools now to get as much performance as possible. I'm asking here because I tried downloading it and it seems to be maybe be quite an outdated version of Dolphin, as I didn't see DX12 in the list. But yea alot of the videos I see on the best settings tend to use Ishiiruka. I'm really sorry if yall don't like the talk of Ishiiruka as it is, at least I think just a 3rd party unofficial version of Dolphin emulator.
